About the role
The Middle Market Underwriting Account Representative (UAR) is responsible for supporting the underwriting process for New and Renewal Customers for multiple lines of insurance coverages, including property, casualty, workers compensation, excess lines and automobile coverages. This position is also accountable for collaborating with team members to achieve growth, profit, renewal retention, service and producer/client management goals for an assigned book of business in the middle market segment of Commercial Insurance.
Responsibilities
- Support the underwriting process for New and Renewal Customers for multiple lines of insurance coverages
- Collaborate with team members to achieve growth, profit, renewal retention, service and producer/client management goals
- Gather and analyze account information, interpret, and translate data into rating and issuance instructions
- Utilize federal and state compliance and regulatory rules to comply with corporate pricing strategies
Requirements
- PC Skills: knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Internet navigation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with internal and external partners
- Proven analytical skills and mathematical aptitude
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills
- Ability to learn quickly, prioritize work, and perform within time constraints
- Strong time and desk management skills and detail orientation
- Basic knowledge of underwriting principles and policy forms is a plus
